OUR PROGRAM

SCOPE

Auto industry experts estimate that there will be well over 3.5 million EVs driving North American roadways by 2020. The industry is seeking qualified technicians to safely and effectively diagnose, and repair these all-new power-train systems. Systems that employ large, lithium-ion battery packs powering 3-phase AC electric motors that deliver up to 600 HP, all controlled by high-power electronics which operate at over 400 Volts.

RATIONAL

When a battery electric vehicle is involved in an accident, there may be damage incurred to high voltage cables and components. This course covers the manufacturer procedures for identifying safety risks and disabling the high voltage systems. By knowing how to correctly “safe” the car, the technician will be able to mitigate the dangers of the high voltage system while body and chassis structural repairs are completed.

EXPERTISE

Sun Country Academy instructors are electric vehicle experts and possess the education, training, and experience necessary to expose and solve the challenges faced by collision repair professionals when dealing with a battery electric vehicle under potential dangerous conditions. In short we HAVE the expertise AND experience!
